Hi,

I re-tested it, trying all following steps :

1) Disabled all gnome shell extensions (I have one that handles the clipboard), no changes
2) Disabled all autocompletions, syntax checking, mouse click handlers in ERIC6, no changes

I'm out of ideas.

To be more precise, now I found the exact behaviour :

1) When I enter first time in Eric editor, if I select a word and press ctrl, the word is erased.
2) Next ctrl keypresses behave normally with no bug
3) If I click inside another document (tried with LibreOffice calc) and back to eric, the behaviour starts again
4) If, before selecting the word in Eric, I type some character and THEN I select word the ctrl behaves normally with no bug

If you have some suggestion for other tests I can try it
