you are going to go there? The Designer creates code that
states "do not touch" and it is so garbled that it is nearly
impossible to decipher -- so yes it is a proverbial black
box -- do not touch and do not bother looking inside to see
what its doing because it will not make any sense -- which
because some of it does not make any sense because it is not

I'm also curious where "pyqt gui's are meant to be hand
coded" came from.<br>

There's plenty to complain about about designer. You
should be able to go into a mode where empty layouts get
placeholder widgets in them and borders get bigger for
easier selection and so on. I haven't tried hard but I
think there could be cleaner diffs of the xml. But to say
that because at some time there will be some trouble with
some uses it should all be thrown out. *shrug*<br>
