syntax error with pyqt5 5.15.6 + sip4

Hi,
 With pyqt 5.15.6, I can no longer build anything against it with sip 4. The build aborts with

sip: /usr/lib/python3.9/site-packages/PyQt5/bindings/QtCore/QtCoremod.sip:23: syntax error

Does pyqt5 no longer support sip 4?
