How would I tell? Everything (except now sip) has been compiled from
FreeBSD ports. I've rebuilt all the ports several times and recently
upgraded to KDE 3.2 (another port), which rebuilt most everything again;
this preference problem has been a constant throughout all that. Also, a
Mac OS X user emailed me to say he has the same problems on his eric3
install. Maybe I should try building everything from source? ;)
