Hi,

can you try to create a QFileDialog giving it the "DontUseNativeDialog" option
(I think that's the right name). Otherwise it will use the file dialog of the
desktop environment (KDE).

Also, I quickly try to create a QFileDialog and it's works perfectly without
any crashes :/ That's why I think it's in eric's code.
I don't compile Qt, I've download and install it via binaries if I remember
well.

Thanks for helping me,

Hello,

over here it works absolutely fine on Kubuntu 12.04. The version show by the
version dialog are:

Python 3.2.3
Qt 4.8.2
PyQt 4.9.1
sip 4.13.2
QScintilla	2.6.1

When it crashes on an update of the dialog, it is not within the eric code.
The dialog is completely inside the Qt libraries. Did you compile Qt yourself?
If you are using the packages from your distributor, you should raise the
issue with them.

Regards,
Detlev

So, The open file dialog apperas normally and it crash when I try to use the
folder view. Indeed if I just write a name (in case of saving a file) it
works, however if I try to select a folder to go into, eric5 crashes. It also
happens when I select a proposition of the Line Edit (e.g I want to open a
file, I write "te" in the line edit, and "test.py" appears. If I click on
"test.py", it crashes). I think that it crashes when the dialog is actualised
... But I'm certianly wrong ...

Hello,

sorry for not having replied to your email but I was busy yesterday. I
just checked my Kubuntu 12.04 installation and I am not able to get it
crash. When exactly does eric5 crash? Does the file dialog appear?
What happens when you try to save a file?
