[Eric] Eric3 does not save settings

Hi !

I have the following problem using eric (Ubuntu edgy package, version 3.9.1):
eric does not save any settings. After restarting the program, all settings are
reverted to their default, including the GUI-settings. Watching eric's
console-output shows the error message:
  "filename is null/empty"

I get the same error using the newer version of eric available via sourceforge.
Can someone help?
