I mean this:
We usually we keep all our work in a directory. (or a dir structure under a specific directory) Is there a way to specify this directory to the IDE so every time we select "Project/New", or "Project/Open", the IDE will prompt for this directory and not force us to start browsing the hard disk so to point to our work dir.

What do you mean by that? What function is always asking for a new project?
